Indian Weddings – Laura & Anirudh

In 2023, #vbmusic took part as the DJ in over 15 Indian weddings in locations such as Mexico City, Morelos, San Miguel de Allende, Cancún, and Florida

Worldwide Indian Weddings

In recent years, we’ve witnessed a growing demand for Indian events all around the world. Undoubtedly, it’s a style of wedding like no other. From its traditions to the festivities and the people involved, we can say there’s nothing quite like it.

In 2023, #vbmusic took part as the DJ in over 15 Indian weddings in locations such as Mexico City, Morelos, San Miguel de Allende, Cancún, and Florida. After all these experiences, we can affirm that no Indian wedding is the same. Just like in weddings in the US and Mexico, each couple has their own personal preferences, traditions, and ideas.

Seeing this increase in demand and Indians from all over the world visiting the wedding destinations we have in Mexico and the USA, our team has started working on a much more specific and tailored proposal for these events.

Learning the Party Way

One of the most incredible Indian weddings we’ve participated in was that of Laura and Anirudh, which took place in Mexico City in 2023. This Mexico-Delhi couple has given us one of the best parties at #vbmusic.

Working alongside Valentina Corro, a well-known pro in the industry and a good friend, we pulled off one of the most incredible parties we’ve had this year.

Without telling every detail about this wedding, let’s just say it was a total blast. Mexican traditions seamlessly mingled with Indian ones, and there were also some super modern moments thrown in, making it a real melting pot of cultures.

The Mehndi Icebreaker / Boiler Room

It all kicked off with a Mehndi celebration that was a mix of Mexican “festival” vibes – think fun games and prizes – and a secret boiler room party tucked away in a hidden basement smack dab in the middle of Mexico City, where we were spinning tunes. The whole scene, with its speak-easy feel and beautiful Mehndi artwork, was just mind-blowing. Our music playlist had a bit of everything – from tech-house beats to Indian and Mexican rhythms, all blended in with some urban and pre-party electronic vibes. This setup was a great way to break the ice with the guests and give them a taste of what was to come over the next couple of days.

The Mexican Wedding / A Nightclub

The next day, Laura and Anirudh went all out with a traditional Mexican wedding. We switched gears musically, going for a more Western vibe with a mix of Spanish, English, and a touch of Latin flair, plus some tech and reggaeton tracks to keep the energy high.

Indian Wedding / A Festival

Then, on the third day, we hit the streets of downtown Mexico City for a Baraat party, complete with speakers blaring and a Dhol player setting the beat on the sidewalks. The whole city was buzzing with excitement, soaking in the vibrant Indian culture on display.

When we finally reached the wedding venue, it was time for the main event – a stunning ceremony under a traditional Mandap, followed by a feast and the lively Sangeet dances. And let us tell you, watching a Mexican bride nail the Sangeet choreography with such finesse had everyone itching to hit the dance floor.

The party itself was a mix of Latin jams, classic and modern Bollywood mixes, hip-hop vibes, and a healthy dose of Indian and international tech-house tracks.

But the real highlight? When the bride and groom joined us in the DJ booth, almost 2 meters above the crowd, and kicked off a wild rave with all their guests. It was like being in our own little festival, a true fusion of cultures that kept the energy going all night long. Hands down, this goes down as one of the best bashes we’ve ever thrown at #vbmusic.

We had worked on Indian weddings in the past, but every time we take on one, we discover something new. It’s not about strictly following the rules or replicating what can be found at home; it’s about doing something different, better, and unique. No matter who you are or where are you from, our promise is that you’ll find something handcrafted just for you.
