Cori & Sebas: A Wedding in Guayaquil
When Corina and Sebas invited us to be their DJs for their wedding in Guayaquil, Ecuador, we knew it was going to be special. At vbmusic, we often travel outside of Mexico for weddings, but this was our first time working in Ecuador—and it did not disappoint.
A Family of Creativity
This was one of the most amazing weddings we've had the pleasure of playing outside of Mexico. Cori comes from a family of international advertisers—her father, Eduardo Maruri, is the president of Grey in Europe, and her brother, also named Eduardo, is now a well-known actor in Mexico and Latin America. With a background like that, we expected a wedding full of creativity and originality, and it definitely lived up to those expectations.
A Dream Venue
The wedding took place at a private residence that we’d easily call one of the most beautiful places we've seen in Guayaquil. The architecture, reminiscent of Spanish colonial styles found across Latin America’s coastal regions, provided a perfect backdrop. The lush garden, filled with towering trees, didn’t need any additional decor to create an enchanting atmosphere. The banquet was laid-back, with an endless buffet, and the overall vibe was incredibly intimate—the kind of atmosphere you aim for with civil ceremonies, but here it was pulled off perfectly. It felt like a close-knit gathering of friends and family, yet it had a refined aesthetic with carefully thought-out decorative touches.
The Journey and Celebration
Our journey began in Mexico, with a layover in Panama before landing in Ecuador two days before the wedding. We spent Friday assisting with production rehearsals to ensure everything was flawless. The wedding itself kicked off at 6 PM on Saturday and, incredibly, didn’t wrap up until 10 AM the next morning. Dancing into daylight was an unforgettable experience, and it’s safe to say this was one of the most extraordinary events we’ve ever been a part of.
A Night to Remember
One of the most unforgettable moments of the night, and one we’ll always hold dear, was when Cori’s brother, Eduardo, jumped into the DJ booth with us to play a set. He’s not a professional DJ, but he absolutely showed us how to throw an incredible party in Guayaquil.
Thank you, Corina and Sebas, for trusting us to be part of your magical day. Guayaquil will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
